The capital of Portugal really does have it all for a Lisbon hen. The mildest winters in Europe mean sunshine will almost certainly be on the menu. And don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes (but be warned: the beautiful old cobbled streets are not heels-friendly). The fashion-conscious Lisboetas go all out for the clubbing scene so pack some glam.
If dancing is your thing then Lisbon is the right place for you. With wall-to-wall bars and clubs in some of the trendiest areas around, packed with party minded people you’re sure to find a beat to fit the style of your Lisbon hen do.
Even those ladies who previously felt no curiosity about their own Lisboanism always come round… and can’t wait to get back to the city of red terra-cotta roofs, purple-leafed jacaranda trees and wonderful bars.
The hilltop district of Bairro Alto is always buzzing with people day and night, partying until the sun comes up, at which point a much needed bica (strong espresso coffee) comes in handy. A beer, caipirinha or glass or vinho verde may also come in even handier, though.
The fashionable old red light district is the place to go for a trendy tipple, a must for any Lisbon Hen Do. Fantastic restaurants will keep your energy up, with great local wine and dangerous deserts.
Not only is the city-centre stuff fantastic, there is also of course the chance to spend a little time during your Lisbon hen at one of Lisbon’s stunning beaches. Try Praia de Carcavelos, Cascais or Estoril (a short train ride down the coast). Sunshine, sea, beautiful views and cocktails on the sand, surely the best cure for sore heads?
Spain Event Tip: Make sure you sample some of those Lisbon custard tarts ladies!
